First investment projects at ROBA CORRUGATED in Raubling completed

In August 2006 ROBA PACKAGING Group expanded by the strategic acquisition of a second sheet feeding plant located near Munich (Raubling) which is specialising in double–flute corrugated sheets. The plant formerly belonged to Mondi Packaging Group.

At the FachPack 2006 Dr. Bauernfeind announced a considerable investment programme for the new production site.

Already in December last year a new modul facer from BHS with a working width of 2,80m has been installed and has been put into operation in January this year. Furthermore a new, fully automatic logistic line from Minda has been implemented and is operating since March.

With the investments made, the capacity of the sheet feeding plant could already be increased by 15%. The next investment project is the construction of a new warehouse which will be finalised by the end of the year.

Dr Roman Bauernfeind presents the expanded ROBA Group at the FachPack Trade Fair
In August this year ROBA Group has further been expanded by the acquisition of the sheet feeding plant in Raubling. Innovations of the group are now presented by Dr Bauernfeind at FachPack

Nürnberg, 26.09.2006, At the FachPack Trade Fair Dr Bauernfeind presents the ROBA PACKAGING group with its two core businesses: offset printed packaging & displays and corrugated sheet feeding.

"Both business units will be further expanded under the aspect of visionary innovations in the near future", says Dr Roman Bauernfeind, CEO of ROBA PACKAGING AG.

One innovation from the offset plant in Alpirsbach is the special combination of materials for displays. Through a complete new processing technology highquality materials such as metal, wood or leather can be combined with corrugated cardboard. Displays become precious and valuable.

Very interesting seems the presentation of ROBA BOARD from the new sheet feeding plant in Zorbau: "ROBA BOARD is an ext ra thin corrugated cardboard with a grammage of under 200 grams and combines the advantages of corrugated board with those of solid board", explains Ulrich Huber, Sales Manager of ROBA Group.

The targeted expansion in the field of sheet feeding continued in 2006 with the investment into a third plant (Raubling, Bavaria) specialising in heavy-duty corrugated cardboard. With this acquisition the existing product portfolio has been significantly expanded. Dr Roman Bauernfeind: "At the new site innovative double or triple flutes will soon substitute traditional heavy-duty corrugated board. With new flute combinations and most modern process technology we will be able to significantly improve stability, processability and printing quality."

Within an integrated supply chain management ROBA Group commits itself to realise individual customer requirements. Workflows, processes and products are continuously being improved in cooperation with customers and suppliers. As part of the supply chain management "MyROBA.com" has been implemented. Customers of the offset and laminating plant in Alpirsbach will be able to see stocks and to call orders forward. Corrugated cardboard sheets can be ordered directly through the purchasing system of the customer or via "MyROBA.com". Furthermore delivery dates can be checked to observe production plans. "MyROBA.com" will shorten response t ime, opt imise processes and will simplify the exchange between B2B. The online plat form "MyROBA.com" will be available from 1st October onwards.

"We aim at being an innovative partner to the packaging industry and we believe that close business relationships are the basis for shared success", Dr Roman Bauernfeind concludes.
